Most businesses underinvest in brand identity and overpay for it later through lost credibility or expensive redesigns. A properly built brand identity gives you a visual language that scales: logo, colour palette, typography and usage rules that work everywhere your business appears.

We offer three levels. Logo design from £500 with three concepts and two revision rounds. A full brand identity including palette, typography system and brand guidelines is £1,000. A brand refresh for existing assets that need updating is £750.

Worked Example

See a brand system being built, one decision at a time

A brand guide explains the rules. A working tool shows you what those rules actually do. Move through the same six stages a paid project goes through, from setting the brief to opening the handover folder.

SearchSoda Arcade is our own set of three browser games. We designed the games and the brands around them, so every asset shown here is our own work rather than a client project.

BRAND IDENTITY IN DEPTH

What a brand identity system actually consists of and why getting it right at the start saves significant money later

A brand identity is not a logo. A logo is the most visible element of a brand identity, but the identity itself is a system: the logo, the colour palette, the typography, the graphic elements, the photography style and the tone of voice that together create a consistent and recognisable impression across every context where the business communicates. When all of these elements work together coherently, the cumulative effect is brand recognition. When they are inconsistent, the cumulative effect is confusion and a perception of lower quality and credibility.

The commercial case for investing in a properly developed brand identity at the right stage of a business's growth is compelling. Lucidpress research consistently finds that brand consistency increases revenue by an average of 23 percent, because it builds the recognition and trust that converts brand-aware prospects into customers at a higher rate. More concretely, a business with a strong, consistent brand identity can charge higher prices for equivalent products or services than a business that looks generic or inconsistent, because the brand itself communicates quality and reduces the perceived risk of purchase.

The deliverables from a brand identity project need to be practically useful across every context the business actually operates in. A beautiful brand that only works at large sizes on white backgrounds is not a complete brand identity. The logo needs to work in black and white, in small sizes, on dark backgrounds, on merchandise and in digital contexts. The colour palette needs to be specified in CMYK for print, RGB for digital and Pantone for physical production. The typography needs to include web-safe alternatives for digital use. The guidelines need to be clear enough that anyone producing content for the business can apply the brand correctly without asking for help.

Brand refresh is as important as initial brand development for established businesses. A brand identity designed ten years ago may have served the business well at the time but may now look dated relative to competitors who have invested in their visual presentation. A refresh is not a rebrand: it is an evolution that modernises the visual system while retaining the recognition value that the business has built in its existing identity.

We work in Bloomsbury, central London, and take on projects anywhere in the UK. Every project starts with a brand discovery session that establishes the values, personality and positioning the visual identity has to carry.
