A website left without ongoing maintenance deteriorates. Plugins become outdated and vulnerable. Hosting performance degrades. Security certificates expire. Backups are not taken. Most business owners discover these problems when something goes wrong, which is invariably at the worst possible time.
Our care plans handle everything. Hosting, security monitoring, plugin and CMS updates, daily backups and performance monitoring. Four plan levels starting at £250 per month for essential cover through to £1,250 per month for enterprise-level management.
The services across all four plan levels
Core services on every plan, advanced features on higher tiers.
Security monitoring
Real-time malware scanning, firewall management and threat detection. Security incidents investigated and resolved without waiting for you to notice.
CMS and plugin updates
WordPress core, theme and plugin updates applied and tested. Every update checked for compatibility before deployment.
Daily backups
Automated backups stored off-site every day. Restoration available within hours if anything goes wrong.
Uptime monitoring
24/7 uptime monitoring with immediate alerts. Downtime investigated and resolved without you having to report it.
Performance monitoring
Page speed and Core Web Vitals monitored monthly. Performance degradation identified and addressed.
Support hours
Monthly support hours for content updates, minor additions and technical queries. Hours vary by plan level.
How care plan management works
Ongoing, proactive management rather than reactive fixes after something breaks.
Onboarding and audit
We audit the site on intake: security status, backup configuration, plugin versions and performance baseline. Issues resolved as part of onboarding.
Ongoing monthly management
Scheduled updates applied and tested. Backups verified. Uptime and performance monitored. Support hours used for any changes you need.
Monthly report and annual review
Monthly report covering updates applied, security status, uptime and performance. Annual review of plan level versus your actual usage.
What happens to websites without ongoing care
Websites are not static. Without regular updates and monitoring, small problems compound into costly ones.
What happens to sites left without maintenance
Care plans that prevent problems rather than fix them
Security that does not wait for a breach
We monitor continuously and update proactively. Most security incidents on WordPress sites are caused by outdated plugins. We eliminate that risk.
Backups you can actually rely on
We verify backup integrity regularly and test restoration so you know recovery is possible when you need it.
Support hours that get things done
Every plan includes monthly support hours for content changes and technical queries. You do not need a developer on call for the small things.
Questions about website care plans
What actually goes wrong with unmanaged websites and what it costs when it does
A website that is not actively maintained will eventually have a problem. The only variables are what the problem is and when it happens. WordPress alone has dozens of updates per year across its core software, themes and plugins. Each uninstalled update is a potential security vulnerability. Each plugin that falls out of date is a compatibility risk with the next WordPress release. The question is not whether something will go wrong with an unmanaged site but whether the business owner will notice before Google does.
Google's Core Web Vitals are increasingly influential in search rankings, and they are not static targets. What counts as an acceptable page speed in 2024 is faster than what counted in 2022, and the threshold keeps moving. A website that was well-optimised when it was built will gradually fall behind if performance is not actively monitored and maintained. Sites on a care plan are checked monthly against Core Web Vitals benchmarks, with optimisation work done when performance dips.
Security is the most acute risk for unmanaged websites. A hacked website can be blacklisted by Google within hours of the hack being detected, removing all organic search visibility instantly. The cost of recovering from a hack, including emergency clean-up, re-indexing and any reputational damage during the period the site was compromised, typically runs to several times the annual cost of a care plan that would have prevented it. This is one of the clearest cases in any business of prevention being far cheaper than cure.
Uptime monitoring is included in every care plan because a website that is down is costing the business money in real time. Most hosting providers guarantee 99.9 percent uptime, which sounds high but translates to nearly nine hours of potential downtime per year. Our monitoring alerts us within minutes of any outage, and we investigate and resolve issues before you'd even know there was a problem.
We provide website care plans for businesses across the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and throughout the country. Plans are available for WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace and custom-built sites on most major platforms.
