Google Ads puts your business in front of people actively searching for what you sell. The problem is that it is also easy to waste money on. Broad match keywords, weak landing pages, campaigns left without weekly attention, conversion tracking measuring the wrong events: these are why most businesses come to us having already spent money on ads that generated clicks but not customers.

We manage campaigns across search, shopping, display and YouTube. Our fee is £1,000 per month flat, regardless of ad spend. Your budget goes directly to Google. We take no percentage and have no financial incentive to push your spend higher.

Worked Example

Thirty characters. Try writing a headline in thirty characters.

Thirty characters a headline, ninety for the description. It sounds like plenty until you write one. Type into the left and watch the result build, then switch tabs to see the same words as a Meta post, a LinkedIn post and a TikTok, because most campaigns run across more than one and the copy rarely survives the trip.

Google publishes its limits and enforces them at upload, so anything over is simply rejected. Headlines also get reordered and dropped depending on the width available, which is why the second one has to make sense on its own. Always check a platform preview before you spend money.

What We Do Each Month

The work behind a properly managed account

Google Ads needs weekly attention to stay efficient.

Conversion tracking first

Phone calls, form submissions and purchases tracked through Google Tag Manager before a single penny of ad spend goes out. No exceptions.

Search term management

Weekly review of search term reports and aggressive negative keyword additions. This is where most budget wastage occurs in poorly managed accounts.

Ongoing ad testing

Two to three variations per ad group. Data determines which performs before the weaker version is paused.

Landing page review

We audit landing pages before launch and flag issues that will hurt Quality Score or conversion rate.

Bid strategy management

Bidding toward verified conversions, not clicks. Strategy adjusted weekly as data accumulates.

Monthly reporting

Spend, clicks, conversions, cost per conversion and ROAS. What changed and what we focus on next.

The Process

From audit to optimised campaigns

We look before we touch. Every inherited account gets a full audit before any changes are made.

01

Audit or strategy build

Existing accounts: full audit of keyword quality, search term history, Quality Scores and conversion tracking accuracy. We show you what we find before touching anything. New accounts: keyword strategy built around commercial intent, not just volume.

02

Build, track and launch

Ads written, campaigns structured, conversion tracking installed and verified, Analytics 4 connected. Landing pages reviewed before anything goes live.

03

Weekly management and monthly report

Bids, negatives, ad scheduling and budget allocation reviewed weekly. Monthly report showing what changed, what it cost and what it returned.

THE INTENT ADVANTAGE

Why search advertising outperforms awareness channels for direct response

Google Search Ads reach people at the exact moment they are looking for what you sell. No other channel matches that commercial intent.

Worth Understanding

Self-managed versus professionally managed campaigns

The difference is not knowledge of the interface. It is what happens every week once campaigns are live.

Why SearchSoda

How we run Google Ads differently

Flat fee, not a percentage

We charge £1,000 per month regardless of what you spend. A percentage model creates an incentive to inflate your budget. Our incentive is to make your budget work harder so you stay with us.

Conversion tracking is non-negotiable

We will not run campaigns without verified conversion tracking. An account optimising toward clicks rather than real conversions is spending money on a guess.

We show you the audit before making changes

For inherited accounts, the audit comes before anything is touched. You see exactly what is wrong before paying us to fix it.

Common Questions

Questions people ask us

A minimum of £500 per month in ad spend gives you enough data to optimise from. Competitive sectors like legal or financial services require significantly more. We look at estimated cost per click before recommending a budget.
No. Our management fee is £1,000 per month flat. Your ad budget goes directly to Google and you can see every penny of spend in your own account at any time.
Search campaigns generate clicks within days of launching. Getting cost per conversion to a profitable level typically takes four to eight weeks as the algorithm accumulates data.
We start with an audit. Most underperforming accounts have one of a small number of structural problems: keywords too broad, negatives missing, or conversion tracking wrong.
Yes. Shopping requires a well-structured product feed in Merchant Center, which we set up or audit as part of onboarding.
Yes. Paid search data tells you which keywords are actually converting, which informs SEO content priorities. Clients running both with us tend to allocate their combined budget more efficiently.
Monthly report covering spend, clicks, CTR, conversions, cost per conversion and ROAS. You also have access to your own accounts at all times.
Performance Max works well for ecommerce with a solid product feed. For service businesses with limited conversion volume it tends to perform worse than well-structured search campaigns.
GOOGLE ADS IN DEPTH

What actually determines whether Google Ads work for your business

Google Ads is the most intent-driven paid advertising channel available. When someone searches "emergency plumber London" or "Invisalign clinic Manchester", they are not browsing or being interrupted. They have a specific need and are actively looking for someone to meet it. This is fundamentally different from social media advertising, where you are reaching people who were not looking for you and hoping the targeting is good enough to make the interruption relevant.

The challenge with Google Ads is not getting the ads live. It is getting the account structure, the keyword targeting, the bidding strategy and the landing pages to work together efficiently enough to produce a cost per conversion that is lower than the revenue that conversion generates. Most businesses that have tried Google Ads and concluded it does not work had either an account that was set up incorrectly and never properly optimised, or they were measuring the wrong things and could not tell whether it was working.

Match types matter significantly. Broad match keywords spend budget on searches that are often irrelevant. Exact and phrase match keywords require more setup time but produce far more predictable results. Negative keyword lists are equally important: a Google Ads account with a well-maintained negative keyword list will consistently outperform one without, because it stops spending on the searches that will never convert.

Quality Score is Google's measure of how relevant your ads are to the searches they appear for. A high Quality Score means Google charges you less per click for the same position. An account with a Quality Score of 8 or 9 will pay 30 to 50 percent less per click than one with a Quality Score of 4 or 5 for the same keywords. This is one of the most concrete rewards Google gives for good account management and it compounds over time.

We manage Google Ads on a flat monthly fee with no percentage of ad spend. This matters because percentage-of-spend agencies have a financial incentive to increase your budget regardless of whether the incremental spend is generating incremental return. Our incentive is to make your existing budget work as efficiently as possible, because that is what keeps clients long-term. We help businesses across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and throughout the UK.
