SearchSoda Arcade

Three browser games we built, free to play

We make interactive web apps. These three are ours, from the code to the box art. No downloads, no plugins and no sign-up: they run in the browser on a laptop or a phone. Pick a game, it loads in the cabinet below, and switching to another one swaps it out.

SearchSoda Rally

Arcade racer

Our newest one, and the biggest. Five tracks to learn, from the easy Harbour circuit through Safari, Alpine and Metro up to Volcano, which is every bit as nasty as it sounds. Win the championship over five races, or go alone in Time Trial and chase a lap record. Four cars, each handling differently. Keyboard, gamepad, or touch and tilt on a phone.

SearchSoda Storm

Bullet hell shooter

Five stages of soda-drone swarms and screen-filling fizz. Weave through the bullets, chain your kills and save your bombs for when it all goes wrong. There is a Standard mode and an Extreme mode, and neither of them is gentle. Plays in portrait or landscape with touch controls, or with a keyboard on a laptop.

Soda Blaster

Arcade shooter

The first one we made. Pilot the husky, shoot the soda cans falling out of the sky, and try not to let any reach the ground. Ninety-nine levels, a boss every tenth one, and it gets meaner the further you go. Keyboard on desktop, drag to move on a touchscreen.

The brands behind the games

Three eras, three identities, one platform

Each game got its own identity built around the console generation it belongs to. The logo, the palette, the box art and the campaign templates all came from the same brief. You can take the whole system apart in the brand identity case study.

Why we build these

A browser game is just a web app with a scoreboard

These are not a gimmick. The things that make a game work in a browser are the same things that make anything else work: it has to render fast, respond the instant you touch it, and behave on a four-year-old phone as well as it does on a new laptop. Get those wrong in a game and it feels broken straight away. Get them wrong on a booking form and you just quietly lose the booking.

So we build these to keep those skills sharp, and we put them here because showing is better than telling. Everything you can play on this page was written in house, runs without a single plugin, and works on a phone.

If your business needs something interactive on its own website, that is the same job with a different goal. A quote calculator. A booking tool. A product configurator, a customer dashboard, a chatbot that answers at two in the morning. If you can describe it, we can usually build it. Tell us what you have in mind.
